A plea for new MC behaviour when submitting disc info to YADB. Can MC either:
1. Make Genre a non mandatory field, or
2. Provide a dropdown list of valid genres to choose from.
I know nothing about genres and always end up entering 'Blues' just to force MC to accept the album track names. Id be happy to take a guess from a list, though.

Pop
Rock
Rock And Roll
Aerobic
etc....
There are no Standards for ID3v2 Regarding Genre It Is Free Text.

Thanks, King - that leaves me with option 1. Can we please have MC not force me to enter a genre? Because making me enter something into this field is not really going to improve the quality of the YADB database, as I cant figure whether the latest Grandaddy album 'Sumday' is rock, pop, pop rock, indie, alt rock, alt folk, booty bass, or whatever...

If you have to enter genre ,in this case keep "blues" .
It is what you get when a genre is not served from any download places like Emusic ,MP3.com, ect

I don't have a problem with Genre no big deal "Pop" 3 little letters.
what is more of a problem is YADB does not always work.
If you turn off the option if more than one match select first, if this is off it does not not show you the others, only when you manualy look it up does it show you.
(at least for me)
It does get confused on DAM CD's made by MP3.com and will seem like it freezes.
I am done riping CD's but i did do a few this weekend and seen the bugs above are still there.
