Title: no volume control in MC9 with my LYNX one PCI card
Post by: hickok on June 15, 2003, 03:55:05 pm
I have set my lynx one card as the default and I monitor on the digital output. Windows media player shows an active volumn control and MC9 does not. I have change the monitoring from Digital output to Analog out . I still do not get a volume control in MC 9. I have to bring up the systems volume control or the lynx mixer to adjust the volume. Anybody out there have this problem and a solution?

It's proper behavior.  Use Lynx mixer to adjust the volume.

Little more description:  In general, changing volume in digital means precision loss.  Therefore, those high end cards don't have volume before their DAC.  WMP has volume and change the sound data in digital.  MC9 also has this in DSP.  Check replay gain option.  However, I don't suggest to use it because of above reason.

Does the Lynx card have a volume adjustment after the DAC?  Is that what the mixer controls?
