There seems to be a couple of bugs with this new build. When I use tools/options/build thumbnails MC 24.0.15 crashes.  This has happened three times in a row.  I have done the same operation on MC23 previously without any issues.
Also perhaps a bug, when restoring the library from MC 23 the skin setting changed from "Z" to "Modern Cards White Edition".
Not sure if it is a bug but in my library for MC23.0.103 thumbnails where at 100% build status.  Upon backing at this library and restoring it for MC24 thumbnails status was 0%. Hence the reason for using the tools/options/build thumbnails.

Also perhaps a bug, when restoring the library from MC 23 the skin setting changed from "Z" to "Modern Cards White Edition".

This is intended with MC24, it'll do a one-time change to the new default Modern Cards skin but it's easy to change the skin to whatever you want. :)

I don't believe thumbnails are carried over during upgrades, so it rebuilds the thumbnails over again. So this is a normal thing with upgrades.

Though I'm sure you could manually post the already generated Thumbnails folder inside the ~/Library/Application Support/J River/Media Center 23 folder into the Media Center 24 folder while MC is completely closed.

As for the crashes, bad file(s), maybe?

Yes it is easy to change the skins, so it was not a problem.

for the thumbnails I copied over three folders that where in the hidden folder: ~/Library/Application Support/J River/Media Center 23/Thumbnails/ to the same folder in MC24 (after first deleting the existing folders from 24).  Now Thumbnail status in MC24 shows 100% built.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Not sure if the problem was a bad file, as it didn't have the same issue in MC23.  However if this problem was unique to me, I suppose it is possible that something got changed in my files after the thumbnail was built.

again, thanks for the help.  problem rectified.

Keeps crashing on me.
It's trying to analyze a (perhaps) corrupt file.
Can you turn logging on and send a log?

I've downloaded this latest version (I've had many, many previous versions) and everytime MC24 tries to load my library it crashes. Any thoughts?

I just installed  JRiver Media Center 24.0.15 for Mac. It every time crashes after some seconds after the start of the app. Removing Mediacenter 23 didn't help. At the moment the new version is useless for me.

Try turning off auto import.  Tools > Import

After turning off Auto-Import in the options (that's not easy if the program crashes after 3 - 6 seconds) Mediacenter 24 seems to work. This problem existed with older versions, too. As I understand Auto-Import is a mighty and very useful tool. Why is it so difficult to make it work?

If it's working after turning off auto-import, you've probably got some bad files causing MC24 to crash.

Can you send us a dropbox link to the file Miles Davis/Kind of Blue/01-So What
PM to bob or johnt or email to either of us @jriver.com
There seems to be an issue with either the type of aif file or it's location (read-only, in-use, etc).

NVM I think we've got it figured out.
It's related to the new XCode compiler.
