Title: special characters
Post by: aliciaviola on April 17, 2018, 01:13:43 am
Same problem with special characters as in the older versions: it's impossible to type é, è or ê in the tag editor it always shows as e (German version and keyboard). To paste a word with special characters results in a broken line: Köln becomes Ko ln.
This is a bug for some years now.

If you're using the Cmd-K popup to enter special characters, it was broken in the latest OS versions.  It has been fixed for the next build.

regrettably it's as in the last version: command - k calls up the box,
I type é and MediaCenter crashes (log file appended)

Thanks, fixed in the next build as well.

Halleluja! It finally works with the box.
And some day perhaps without, too.
Fingers crossed....

With the latest build (24.0.18), you can simply long-press a letter key to select a diacritical version of that letter.  For example, press and hold the 'e' key and you'll see a menu with various diacritical versions to choose from.

Great, that finally makes things much easier.
Pasting words with special characters only partly works.
If I copy a word in Google Chrome and paste it, for instance,
into the title column, it appears correct, pasting fron Safari
results in a broken line ("ä" as "a e")
