Title: QNAP and JRiver - Revisited

Hello, JimH, et al.

I know this topic has been discussed and killed several times (I read the other threads and understand the negative opinions on running JRiver on a NAS), but how can you resist salivating at the idea of JRiver running on the QNAP TVS-1282T3:

Oooohh!!!  JRiver and the QNAP QNAP TVS-1282T3 duo! What an orgasmic match!

If only this duo could see the light of day....

Here's my approach to make good use of the Qnap attached to my network.

For audio duty:

I don't need the NAS to serve. I'd expect that if I did, I could get the IdPi to do that job.

If I had a video need, then there are various ways to skin that cat but the basic method above could be modified with suitable hardware in the mix.

Maybe that sort of approach could work for you?

EDIT: When picking out a HAT for an IdPi be wary. Take a look at Idpi and hats - Reply #5 (https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,115547.msg799314.html#msg799314). In that post, there are links to other threads relating dev advice and user experience.

I can personally vouch that a HiFiBerry Digi+ Pro and DAC+ Pro work on an RPi 3B running Id:22.0.82 / MC:24.0.19
