Title: Subtitles ON --> choppy video in MC24
Post by: alec_eiffel on April 28, 2018, 04:50:08 pm
Hi all, I am running MC24 on an Intel NUC with Intel Graphics 620, upgrading from MC22.
I am facing an issue I didn't have previously: when subtitles are "ON", the video gets choppy. No pb when they are off. Any idea of the cause and how to fix it? Many thx!

I have the same issue with both MC23 and MC24 on an Intel UHD630 when using Red October Standard. This is not a processing power issue since i can run Red October HQ without any dropped frames.
The subtitles flicker above the video with LAV decoder. Manually updating LAV didn't help  :(.
This is an MC issue since MPC-HC works fine.
Most likely the subtitle engine needs to be updated.

Subtitles are being handed over to the Microsoft Enhanced Video Renderer with RO Std, which in the past has shown to have some issues with recent Intel GPUs/drivers. If you can run RO HQ, I would recommend to just do that.
