Hi-Res FLAC files play back at about half-speed (or slower), with half-frequency pitch. This is true in MC21 (my previous version) and now in MC24. Testing so far has involved playing lo-res FLAC files of a song on MC, VLC, and Audacity (no problem in any of those players in lo-res), then playing hi-res versions of the same song in all three players. The other two players handle the file with no problem, while MC has the above issue. MC can also (obviously) handle mp3s of the same song. The second counter takes about 2 seconds to cover 1 second (so it's 2 seconds before the counter flips over from 0:24 to 0:25, for example) in MC. No errors seem to be posted.
I tried to send examples as attachments, but they are too large and of the wrong file type for this forum. The example I would send is Pat Metheny's "Sueno Con Mexico", which has a FLAC version taking 119.7 MB. One can argue about whether that resolution is necessary, but it certainly exists, and it can be played without distortion on other (less audiophile?) platforms.

Can't reproduce, all my hi-res FLAC files playback correctly here on Mac.
Sounds like a misconfiguration somewhere, perhaps in DSP Studio?
-
Is everything in DSP Studio off?
-
I haven't touched DSP Studio (I didn't even know it was a thing until you responded) - see attached png, I think everything is off (the options visible by scrolling down the sample rate box are also "No change"). I'm not sure how to make this reproducible on your system, but it's definitely reproducible on mine. I'm running a late 2015 iMac, 4GHz i7, 24GB RAM, 1867MHz DDR3.
Thanks again!

Update - working better with newest updates. Great placebo effect on clarity, by the way, averaging about 3,000 kbps

I need help with playing my Hi-Res files via Bluetooth. Can anyone assist me with this problem? I’m still runing MC 21
-
As far as I know (and if I recall correctly), streaming over Bluetooth is a lossy operation and I don't think it's possible to stream hi-res over Bluetooth without resampling*.
* Though, I think there is a proprietary lossless compression for Bluetooth allowing 24-bit/96 kHz. Doubt that works with MC though - emphasis on proprietary here.
