Title: Subtitles brightness ( PGS style)
Post by: Symus35 on May 10, 2018, 05:16:20 pm
Hello,

I was wondering if it were possible to controle subtitle layer brightness  ( PGS, or ASS kind )

It comes as a feature in decent blu-ray players, and it's kind of cool to be able to lower the white intensity. More comfortable.

I watch all my movies in original version + sub, so it's kind of a big deal to me, must be for others too !

Since PGS cant be tweaked in terms of color, font, and so on, maybe it can be treated as a video layer ad hoc ( which is true) , and we could influence it that way.

What do you think ?

Thank you

Ideally this could also be set depending on whether the video is HDR or SDR, as some HDR discs don't have half-brightness subs like most of them do.
