Title: Streaming from MC server to an Xbox?
Post by: Z0001 on May 15, 2018, 01:12:18 am
Hi

I am wondering if anyone does this and how well it works with mkv Blu Ray and 4k rips? I think I heard that while MC gives lots of flexibility over playback settings (eg subtitles) Xbox doesn't so much.

Would welcome any experiences.

Thanks
Z

Has anyone use an Xbox as a player, eirther streaming from a MC server or playing files from a local or network drive. I'm interested to know if the Xbox will play 4k mkv rips

Thanks

The Xbox supports a kind of DLNA and should show up as a destination renderer.  You need to set MC's DLNA Server to Xbox under Media Network settings.  Set the video option to original (probably).

I have no idea beyond that.  The bandwidth might not be enough.
