Title: Music on QNAP NAS and JRiver
Post by: Ephiros on May 15, 2018, 05:02:31 pm
Hello everyone,

I actually use a QNAP NAS (TS-231P) to stock all my music files, and JRiver Media Center 23 to play them through my local network and it works like a charm, but how do I use JRiver to play my music library when I'm away from my local network, using  internet? Seems like a very basic question but please, I can't figure out.

Thanks a lot.

Welcome to the forum.  On the wiki, there are topics you could read.

Media Network
Network Access (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Network_Access)

Your current copy of MC would be the server.  You could try connecting from another machine on the same network, just to see how it works.  Once that's working, you need to open your firewall and tell your router to route the inbound packets to the server.
