Would love some help on what should be a simple thing.
I alphabetize the music in my library the way i prefer and do not want the iPod to "fix" what I have spent countless hours doing. What I mean by this is that bands that start with "The", I have changed already. I have tried both checked and unchecked for the "Ignore articles" box and still the music on the iPod has been reordered.
Example: "The Cure" in my library it is "Cure, The" as well as every other band that starts with "The", however the iPod makes it "The Cure" no matter which way i have the ignore article box checked.
I have also tried deleting the band off the device and re-syncing it back and the iPod still messes with the naming.
How do you prevent the device from doing it's own alphabetizing?

Update: The geniuses that are JRiver have already solved my issue.
I simply select all the artists in question "on the iPod" and did a file clean move article.
I was not sure that would work but it did so no more issue.
Thanks

Well I may have spoke too soon.
The iPod changes it back after JRiver fixes it.
Ugh

Is there an option in the menus on the iPod for this?
It's been so long since I used an actual iPod that I really have no idea.

I have tried that with no luck at all. Apple wants to tell me how to alphabetize!

maybe because that's their name.....just saying

I'd look at subtly altering the The, or perhaps the spacing :)
This really depends on how much effort you're looking to put into this, but (for example), you could change the 'e' to one of the accented variants:

Changing the space type might also work:

I have no idea how good the unicode support is on the iPod though, or how aggressive the Apple algorithm is.....
