Title: Streaming window is white and doesn't work

I'm running mac os 10.9.7 and MC 24.0.25, and the streaming window doesn't work at all for me or display anything except a white background. I'm also using MC 24 on windows it works fine there. Any ideas?

Does that happen for any service?  Or are you saying you can't even see the main Streaming page?

Hmm, not seeing this problem in build 24.0.25.  I can see the main streaming page and pick "Radio Paradise" and play it.  Running High Sierra 10.13.3 on a Macbook.

I found some clues. I recalled that I had a similar issue with the start up screen. Sure enough, if I set Options > Startup > Startup Interface > Location: Start, I get the same white screen when MC starts. This is also true for MC20, 22, 23. I've tried Clearing the Library, disabling Black on Black skin.

I can't recall when this issue started but I'm sure it wasn't 4 years ago with MC20. It might have been when I tried and failed to install some nzb tools via command line last year. I've attached a log of a restart in MC24 which went to the white start screen, and then to Playing now, Audio, Streaming, and Playlists.  Any ideas on how to get this fixed so that streaming can work for me?

BTW, the wiki is improving, thank you very much for that and please keep it up.

As far as I know, MC for Mac doesn't have the internal browser yet. If that's indeed the case, the start page being blank/white might be normal until it does support it. With MC for Linux gaining the internal browser with the latest beta update, I'm assuming MC for Mac may not be that far behind.

On the Mac, MC has always used the Mac browser API. There is no other option.
I just tested this on 10.9.7 and it works fine.
What video hardware does your Mac have?
Do you have a firewall installed?

Thanks for the attention! I used to have avast but only used AV. It was deinstalled long ago. I don't use the built in firewall or stealth mode.

The Start menu used to display properly, and then some change turned it white. I have the display dialed back to 720p for readability on my Sony 52" TV. I tried 1080p, same result. My mac mini is a 2012 model with i5 cpu so I assume video is standard. From the about graphics section:

That's pretty similar to the machine we run on here.
The first invocation of the start menu uses a html page from us. I assume you have an internet connection on it?
Subsequent invocations of the start menu by using a tab now only bring up a blank screen.

I have downloaded 24.0.25 but don’t see “Radio Paradise” as an option to stream . Any ideas ?

I have this problem sometimes too, but I realized that the Public radio streams are free and much higher quality, so I decided not to care about the streams broadcasting at a whopping 64kbps and want me to pay for 128kbps...

no, I pay for TIDAL at full CD resolution, I am NOT paying for 128kbps...
