Title: Windows Homegroup Depricated
Post by: jmone on May 26, 2018, 04:25:34 pm
FYI - With the Latest version of Windows 10, Homegroup has been removed (https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/4091368).  I know it will not be missed by many but I've used it for years as a quick way of adding PCs / HTPCs to my Home Network.  Guess I'll now need to see what has stopped working (if anything) in way of access.  I also used to use Windows Home Server till it was also deprecated and also thought that was a nice easy way to backup PCs and share content in an Home environment.

Neat, finally don't need to manually remove it everytime it decides to re-activate itself. It was very intrusive even if you never once set it up. Never bothered to use it, all my PCs have user-based access setup, so it wouldn't really offer anything to me.

Lost Network Browsing capability on Windows 10? Here is the fix. (https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,114852.0.html) from RoderickGI might help?

or is that something else entirely perhaps...
