Title: Television constantly buffering
Post by: lowwhistler on May 29, 2018, 09:28:08 pm
Since upgrading to 24, I'm getting pretty constant buffering whilst watching TV. I watch through a remote library with the Ceton TV card in the main PC and I connect to it through a small Intel NUC box.
Now consistently, the audio repeats a small chunk (maybe 20ms) over and over and then the picture freezes. The only thing you can do is stop playback and restart. Once you've done that a few times, you get a "no TV tuner free" message and you have to restart the main PC.
Everything was stable with 23.

There appeared to be a network issue.  We got an "internet timeout" error.

OK, can anything be done to prevent that? Both PCs are hard wired to one router and I never had the issue with MC23. This is happening about every 10 mins, it's totally unwatchable (for the family).

Check your authentication settings haven't changed in options > media network. There are lots of Server error 500- generic something went wrong header, and also some server error 401 - which is failed authentication header, in your log.

I don't use authentication, so why would there be errors in the log? I think I'm going to have to revert to MC23 because the family are going nuts.

Is MC setup in a Server / Client configuration?
Did you DISABLE the tuners on the Client, so that the only Server grabs the tuners, then serves them up to the Client?
Will Tv play good on the Server?
If you record Tv on the Server, does it play back ok on the Server?
If you record some Tv shows on the Server, then play them back on the Client, do they play back ok?
