Title: Downgrading 9.1 Beta to 9.0.180
Post by: Omni on June 09, 2003, 01:55:54 pm
What's the best way to downgrade one's copy of MC?

Do I just install v.9.0.180 on top of v.9.1.194?  Will MC crash when trying to read the invalid library database?

Or do I have to completely uninstall, reinstall, and then register again (wasting license restore in the process)?

(I made a backup of my library as instructed, so no worries there.)

If you find a bug in 9.1 and we can reproduce it, the bug will be fixed within a day or two.

So, you may want to hang with 9.1...

(otherwise, do a complete uninstall, reboot, reinstall, restore from backup)

You can install .180 over 9.1. You will also get the added luxury of a working DirectX host in 180. Just restore library and all should be well. I did it just for the heck of it yesterday.

Yes, and for anyone reading this thread, please know that I have the utmost respect for JRiver's dev team for their efficiency and responsiveness, not to mention that they produce one fine product as well!

No, it's just that I been doing the beta thing since November, and I was toying with the idea of going back to a stable, relatively bug-free build for a while.  Of course, now that you have just released 195, I may hold off on that decision.  :)
