Title: MC 24 did not copy all of my files

Hi,

In the installation of MC 24 it did not copy all of my files from MC 23. How do I copy the remaining files onto MC 24?

Backup in MC23, restore in MC24.

thank you, unfortunately this did not work - I backed up in 23 and restored in 24 and not all files were copied - should I delete trhe library from 24 and then restore?

You may need to set your options for auto import.

where in the options would the auto import function be / I checked under options, library and I believe it is already checked.

Tools > Import.  Always try a Google search when you're stuck.

Please read about importing files.  You're probably missing a location or a file type.  Start at "Getting Started" in my signature.

ok - I did all of that and am still at the same juncture - I have 1093 albums on MC23 and only 604 of these copies to MC 24 - should I uninstall and then reinstall MC24? Any other suggestions? Thanks

No need to uninstall.  Compare the two libraries.  Which files are missing?  Are the locations included in auto-import settings?  Are the file types included?

If they were previously deleted, they won't be imported again unless you set that option in auto import settings.

In MC 23 when I go to Import>Configure auto import the only folder accessable to me are /users/my name/documents/jrivermc23. When I try to do this on MC 24 the folder path available to me is users/my name/music/systemmusic folder/mc24. Also of some conusion to me is the fact that on mc23 there are 15,234 files while on 24 there are 45,524 files. any advice?

We can't help you find your files.  You need to do that.  You could try comparing the locations of files in both libraries.  You could try a search from the file system.

when I do backup and restore from mc23-mc24, the restore function in mc24 does not show the library I backed up in 23 - is there a reason for this - the path is to restore the backup in mc24, not mc 23.

Browse to the old location.  You can set the directory for backups.
