I have been running MC on my WHS NAS, built by Tranquil in the UK, for some time now.
The NAS is 6 yrs old and currently running version MC20 with no problems. It also provides back up to my main PC now on W10 with no problems.
I decided to upgrade to MC 24
I cant get MC 24 to load onto my NAS. The software goes through the extract process to 100%, windows shows the timer for a few seconds then no action.
Im using MC24 version 240030.exe
I have loaded MC24 64 bit version onto my W10 PC with no issues.
Anyone any Idea as to what Im doing wrong or is there a technical issue with the now old WHS software.

Is the WHS software 32bit or 64 bit? You need the correct version bitwise for a 32 bit WHS system.
-
32 Bit.
Im using MC24 version 240030.exe which I asume is 32bit ?
I did try MC24 64 bit version and it did not load with WHS but fine with my main PC running W10
Looking at Wiki regarding WHS Im getting conflicting information. I need to establish exactly what version of WHS Ive got - some seem to be 64 bit.
My NAS/WHS Control Panel /System info does not give me the exact version of WHS installed
I need to delve deeper as soon as I get time and will report my progress- or lack of it.

Brings back fond Memories, I had a Tranquil SQA-5H + Expansion for 10 bays of glorious WHS backup and storage all as one share! If your Tranquil was the SQA-5H it is a dual-core 1.6GHz Atom 330 with 1 or 2 GB of memory.
Pending what version of WHS you have:
- WHS 2007 (V1) was 32-bit (and shared code base with WinServer 2003R2/Windows XP)
- WHS 2011 (V2) was 64-bit (and shared code base with WinServer 2008R2/Windows 7)
Both have long be deprecated though I would have thought MC24 could be made to work on WHS 2011. If you have WHS 2007 you are probably out of luck. Unless you are able to muddle through this yourself I don't think you will find many people left with WHS to help all that much. Sorry about that. FYI - the MC HW/SW Requirements are here: https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Windows_System_Requirements

Yes it is a tranquil SQA-5H
Looks like Im out of luck - Im running WHS 2007
The SQA-5H was bought in February 2011. That was three months before WHS 2011 was introduced.
Ill have to stick with MC20, which works fine for my audio only application, until the SQA dies!
Its run 24/7 since bought so no shame to it.
Many thanks for your help

I loved my SQA-5H and it is a shame that MS dropped WHS... You are going to have issues with it backing up your Win10 Boxes so at some point it is going to need to be replaced. You could try other versions of MC (eg MC21,22,23 etc) but at the end of the day all good things come to an end.
FYI - this is what they looked like. Tiny 5 bay unit (+5 bay extention).

Yes thats the unit, very well built.
Im OK with MC20.
Re W10 its OK just now but might be worthwhile doing some research re a replacement NAS

I am running MC24 on WHS2011 64bit with no problems.
Not that this helps the OP with his problem, but it shows it can be done
