Title: alternate thin media server clients

I was hoping that someone could help me in determining if there any any alternative media server clients.  I'd like to use Media Center to build a home  media server and then install simple clients on several workstations in the house.    

I like the Tivo HMO concept, however, I'd like to extend this to an HTPC setup.   The Full MC client seems like overkill for simply playback.
