Title: JRiver MC24 raises CPU utilization up to 100%...
Post by: John Smith on June 30, 2018, 08:07:01 am
Just can't watch my movie with Randolph Scott...   MC24 raises CPU utilization up to 100%.  The picture starts to freeze.

I am talking about just ordinary 1080p BD media file, not about some demanding 4K one.

As for figures:
MC24.0.39 64-bit.
Macbook Pro, 2,6 Ghz Intel Core i7, 16 Gb RAM.
MacOS 10.9.5

Seems, I have something to add.  Recently I have watched some new Chinese movie.  In the middle of this I faced strong freezes.  I checked this and found that the memory is leaked and CPU utilization is about of 100%.  I stopped MC and reloaded it. Freezes were the same. After doing this several times, I stopped this hopeless action and continued to watch the movie in VLC...  No freezes in VLC were found...

I used the latest MC24 042 release.

Sounds like an antivirus problem.

Oh...  I have some reply...
No, definitely not.  I have a mac. I have no on-line anivirus, just run some good off-line antivirus regularly. I've just rebooted for this and I had no any unnecessary programs running.  Just MC24 and performance monitor to check CPU utilization.

It looks like some decoding problems.  Or some stability problems...
