WDM driver still not functional on Win7.
I just installed 24.0.41 on a Windows 7 box and it functions fine. Must be something on your end.
The only issues we're aware of are about Windows 10. Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 were never affected by it, it always worked fine on there.

It worked on earlier builds of MC.
Now everytime I try using WDM driver it ends up with no sound at all.
I have to reinstall the XMOS driver(use a USB to spdif converter Singxer F1) to get the sound back again.
-
Are you using build 41?
-
Yes.
I just tried newer XMOS driver but same behaviour.
I works a couple of seconds then I loose left channel and after a while also right channel.
When opening the soundpanel where I choose JRiver as default player I see that the indicator on the right indicates that JRiver is actually playing but no sound at all.
-
Now I reinstalled the XMOS driver several times.
Activated WDM driver and loose all sound.
Then reinstalled all over again with WDM driver activated.
Now this time it seems to work but it takes a while before JRiver plays through the WDM driver.
A bit sluggish but it works.
Have a MCE remote and it when muting or lower/raise volume I see that windows reacts and mute symbol and volume meter is moving.
The sound doesnt change at all though.
