Title: "Analyze audio" tags not showing up
Post by: tyler69 on July 17, 2018, 08:21:00 am
So I would like to use the volume leveling feature. For that, I understand the audio files must be analyzed.
Now I see Peak Level & DR values in MC but they are not written to the file tag. Do I need to check "Update tags when file info changes" for that? I would rather not do that based on the findings in
https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,114704.msg806439.html#msg806439

Basically, I want the files to be tagged with the analyzing data but not updated with both [ALBUMARTIST] and [ALBUM ARTIST]. Is that possible?

EDIT: Removing the checkmark for "Album Artist" in "Manage library fields" solves the issue I assume. Afterwards I did "Update tags from library" and it seems only the analytical tags have been written. Now hopefully it works also automatically when "Update tags when file info changes" is checked.

I don't know...I analyze everthing and never never have I had any issues now or in the past. No problems like the link you posted either....I analyze and go on my way.

Didn't Hendrick point out that MC isn't doubling up the artist names or am I missing something? As for the audio tags it doesn't really matter if they are embedded in the file or not as long as MC can use them when necessary.

For compatibility, MC writes the TPE2 and the TXXX(Album Artist) tag. It's actually the other apps at fault here displaying both of them if they're present.
