A little good news for a change. https://forum.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=119&t=69230

Does anyone know...
Is JRiver capable of seeing/recording these new premium channels, or will it be capable at a later time?
-
Silicondust could probably answer that. It depends on whether they are encrypted.

According to the discussion, SiliconDust claims it works just like OTA channels so will work with existing recording software like MC. The only current difficulty appears to be EPG setup.

Silicon dust is saying they don't apply DRM if they don't have to (For this they don't). It could work out of the box though, and there seems to be a lot of interest in it. I think the only requirement is that the PVR has to be able to talk to a HTTP API.
