I am running MediaCenter version 24.0.42. I have been ripping my CD collection, using a program called Max, whose job it is to make identical copies of the music files. I am having the music files output in Flac format, and stored on an external drive. I have Media Center watch the main file, and auto import the ripped files: this all works well.
I am having problems with one aspect of this workflow, namely, the cover art. I have the option set to automatically get the cover art, but it does not work: it retrieves nothing. Even when I manually use Tools > Cover Art > Get from internet, it doesn't find anything.
Can anyone please help me troubleshoot this problem?
Thank you in advance...be well

The files' metadata tags for Album, Artist and Album Artist are all correct?
-
Max is filling in the 'artist', and the 'album' fields: it is not filling in 'album artist' (by the way, what is the difference between 'artist' and 'album artist').
As an example, I just ripped Robert Plant's lullaby and...The Ceaseless Roar. The tags are as follows...
-album Lullaby and...The Ceaseless Roar
-artist Robert Plant
-album artist
The cover art did not get retrieved from the internet.

PS - doe anyone know where MediaCenter looks for the cover art?
-
Then try it with an album where you filled in the Album Artist tag.
The difference is e.g. in compilations; there you have songs by different artists, so there is no one album artist. A normal album has usually one album artist, but some songs can have additional artists (duets e.g.).

Same problem here.
I have been using JRiver for several years (22.0.88 currently) and the issue just appeared perhaps a month ago. Tagging seems to work fine, and I can manually add cover art, but it will no longer retrieve art from the Internet.

The cover art server has been offline for a few days. Our servers were attacked.

I'm sorry for the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply. No apology required. You guys have much bigger fish to fry.

I am still unable to retrieve cover art successfully.
I attempted to retrieve a cover, and this is what the log reports...
0000000: 2950001536: General: Log Reset: Logging reset
0002441: 88985600: Handheld: CAcquireImagesDevices::Thread: Start
0002442: 88985600: Handheld: CAcquireImagesDevices::Thread: Finish (0 ms)

0002442: 2950001536: Handheld: CAcquireImagesDevices::BuildDeviceArray: Finish (0 ms)
If this had successfully retrieved a cover, would there have been some info to that effect? Does this help anyone in the know to help me get to the next step?

What's unusual about this...it was working last week, perhaps August 20-21 or thereabouts. I would bring in an album, and 'get cover art from internet' would bring up multiple images, and I could select the one I like the most.
I can't remember what I did, if anything, to make it stop working.
Would anyone have any suggestions?

It's not working for me either. I'm fairly certain this is because JRiver's servers got hacked last week and they have been rebuilding them. The cover art server probably isn't up yet.

Brian is probably right. Please wait a day or two.

For anyone auditing this post, the capability to retrieve cover art returned yesterday afternoon. To all of you working on MC 24, thank you...
