Title: playlists and columns
Post by: LouisThe on August 25, 2018, 02:12:01 am
MC 24.0.45

Macbook Air (13-inch, Early 2015)
OS High Sierra 10.13.6
Processor 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 8 GB 1600MHz DDR3

Starts with Playlist
Click on “Add Playlist” and a new playlist called “New Playlist” appears
Can add songs to New Playlist by dragging into action window
But:
cannot rename New Playlist
MC 24.0.45 (and before that 24.0.42) will not save playlist when exiting MC. On relaunch- playlist is gone

Also on listening to Audio
Files
Can add columns such as Number Plays, Last Played etc.
But:
Quit MC 24 and relaunch:
Added columns are gone
No record of last played
Last played doesn’t show
No record of number plays
Number plays doesn’t show
When Number Plays and Last Played added again, most recent info from before doesn’t show.

In my testing I got the same results as you.  As long as the "Action Window" playlist is open for editing/adding the playlist can not be renamed.  You can rename it before you start.  Or you can close the action window and then rename it.

Thanks, Brian: I just tried your suggestion, alas to no avail on my machine. "Delete", "Rename" and a couple of other editing options remain non-active. I think I must be doing something wrong, but can't figure out what that would be. Ah, I just discovered that I was in something called "Party Mode" --- no idea what that is or how I got into that mode, but those words were displayed on the titlebar-so,  found it in the menu and clicked on it- and all is remedied. If you hadn't suggested a remedy I would not have tried again to fix the problem and likely wouldn't have noticed the "Party Mode" language-etc etc. So, thanks :)
