Title: Problem With Download
Post by: lgTnG07 on September 06, 2018, 07:47:33 pm
When I tried downloading the new updated software I received and error message stating:

"Failed to load JRTools.

Please reinstall the latest version of the program."

I uninstalled the version that I had and tried redownloading the latest software but I can't download the software because I get the same error message.

Possible antivirus problem.

I tried shutting down my Webroot SecureAnywhere Firewall/anti spyware and the same error message came up.

Try uninstalling your antivirus.  It's the only way to know.

If you're running Windows 10, you also have Windows Defender and it must be configured correctly.

What OS are you running?  Anything else unusual?

Did you uninstall this?

I did uninstall my antivirus/spyware. I am running Windows Vista Home Basic.

Redownload MC and try again. It's possible the AV tampered with the installer. But using Vista Home Basic might be a factor too.

I downloaded the older version Media Center 23.0.104 and it installed. I think the first version of MC 24 worked as well but I'm just going to stick with this one because I don't want to go through the hassle of trying to download MC 24 and getting all the error messages. I'm stumped because I thought MC worked with all operating systems including Vista (which is what I have) which is why I bought MC in the first place. Maybe I'll download a newer version when all the bugs get worked out.

Antivirus software will do exactly that.  One build will be allowed and the next one won't.  It's not a problem with MC.
