Quick question regarding file conversions...
Does changing an MP3 file from say...160kbs to a higher quality of MP3 such as 192 etc. really upgrade the sound quality of the file?
-
no, and it may sound worse along with wasting hard drive space.
the increase of the size of the file is due to the encoder adding white sound to the file.
-
So if I were to make a WAV CD from MP3 files.. they will play with a CD player but sound worse than the original files?
-
At a high enough bitrate you probably won't notice the difference. Just do not try and convert to a higher bitrate like KS said. Then they will sound like S*I*.
-
when ever you make a copy of a copy it will be worse, and then when ever you reencode from format to format you will loss something.
going from 128, or 160kbps to 192kbps is pointless it adds nothing
