Title: Why are there 6 "user" fields predefined in a clean install of MC?
Post by: Vocalpoint on September 23, 2018, 08:00:20 am
I am configuring a clean install of 24.0.52 on the HTPC today and want to ensure that the custom fields that exist in my master FLAC library files are present in the new MC library - BEFORE I import anything.

In reviewing the User Fields in 24.0.52 - I see there are 6 user fields already there - presumably for classical items:

Initial Key
Movement
Movement Count
Movement Number
Show Work Movement
Work

Any reason why these are "User" fields vs standard "Audio" fields.

If I am not using them - can they be deleted from the library or will MC complain about being missing at some future point?

EDIT: Tried to remove one of these. Dropped it and restarted MC - the field returns. This make no sense for a "user" field. Clearly these have some purpose that I am not understanding?

Ideally - I need to make sure my HTPC library only contains those user fields that I have defined and that are present in any of my existing FLAC files.

Appreciate any info on this.

Cheers!
