JRiver had been updating for us without incident until I upgraded to MC24. The problem is simple. When JRiver starts the Update, the UAC pops up and MC24 stops everything until we okay it. This is bad if we are out and have things scheduled for recording. I have tried to correct the problem and tried using OHM's guidance under topic "User Account Control (UAC) showing since 20.0.50 ", dtd 29 Dec 2014. I can't seem to fit the problem. I can't view the privilege level for MC24 because of changes made to Windows 10. Could someone please help resolve this.

Surely your not speaking of me....I don't use or know athing about MC TV

You could disable automatic updates under Help>Update Channels and just check manually for updates when it is convenient for you. If you have a previous version still installed like MC 23 it might be holding on to the UAC privileges and causing MC24 to have to ask for them. Might be wrong, often am!

Disable updates completely. I had the same issue as you.
For me - having the system available when I need it (using the latest stable build BTW) far outweighs the need to apply any update.
I test all updates offline with a test box and only apply them to the actual media room machine during my standard monthly maintenance window. And even then - updates only get applied if they have an impact on the overall experience - or if some huge problem has been solved.
I have gone months and months on a typical "stable" build with no need to ever update. MC is very solid

Yes, OHM, I'm Surley speaking of you. I even went back and looked at your post. You sure seemed to know athing in that post. Maybe it was someone else posing as you. Got any ideas who that could be?
I had turned off automated updates, but automatic updates was a nice feature and I didn't have think about keeping JRiver up to date.

I have to agree, disabling automatic updates is likely your only solution. Just do manual update checks every week or so.
UAC is an interesting beast, that's for sure. But for the issues it can cause, I don't ever recommend disabling UAC under Windows. Doing that can cause other weird issues and problems (not to mention problems with security).
