Running 24.0.56
When I play a video and hit Ctrl+S to stop play, MC brings up the madVR advanced setting dialog.
Ctrl+S works when stopping audio.
Is there a setting I can change or is this a bug?

When you're in the madVR settings, navigate to user interface -> keyboard shortcuts, and simply clear the shorcut for "open settings dialog".
Another option is to use one of our new madVR profiles, all of our pre-configured madVR profiles already have that hotkey cleared to avoid that conflict. You can load them through the MC Options -> Video -> Load madVR quality preset. Note that it will reset all your madVR settings.
I reckon you had a very old madVR settings file already, and thus "inherited" the shortcut assignment? Any new install through MC should not have had it.

Thanks @hendrik! That fixed it.
I switched to the High Quality madVR preset and Ctrl+S works again.
I've been using MC for many years and countless versions and never had the problem until the last couple of updates.
Since I've never messed with the madVR settings, it wasn't a problem to reset madVR.
Since I'm not familiar with madVR and its settings could you point me to some place to learn more?

There is a long thread on madVR at doom9.
