Title: Crash: New MC56+Win 10 Update today + New Fritzbox 6490 [Solved]
Post by: Manfred on October 10, 2018, 01:17:19 pm
I had a very old Router, yesterday I got the new one from my Cable Provider Fritzbox 6490.
Today Microsoft installed an upgrade 1809 of Win 10

->Network shares are not seen anymore on my PC and my media renderer
->MC; if I click on Videos in standard view , immediately crashes

It seems that the new Win Upgrade does not anymore support SMB 1.0, but that it is required by the Fritzbox. Is this true and if yes, how can I fix it?

I had looked into that and I had it activated - it must be something different.

Dann suchen sie auch in FritzBox
Internet/Filter/Listen/NetBIOS - nicht auf Altiv!

I think I have found the problem area but no solution currently.

I have Router->Pc ….Wifi.... WLan Repeater->Switch->Media Renderer
                                                                             ->Media Server

The Linksys Switch offers a diagnostics tool. If I ping the PC: Success; If I ping the Media Server: Ping Failed Timeout
But Using Remote Desktop on the PC I can login to the Media Server. ???
The ping to the media server also fails from the PC.

I am puzzled.

Solved: For what reasons ever -> Win 10 Update on my media server switched network access from private to public. Going back to private -> server was now able to ping-> network shares now work again  :)
