Title: Running MC as Media Server in the background -> How ignore key presses?
Post by: magnust on October 13, 2018, 03:41:33 pm
I have a HTPC where I run Kodi, Plex, Windows MCE for live TV and MC for playing music.

But it also serves as a music server for the rest of the house with MC running as background Media Server.

The problem is that even when only running in the background as a server it seems to "steal" some specific media button presses from the foreground programs I use to watch tv, videos and so on.

I ran through all MC settings trying to disable this behaviour but obviously I failed. Help would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: FOUND IT. Works now :-D

So first, obviously I have Startup -> Run on Windows Startup set to "Media Server" and then I only start MC when I want to play music locally on the HTPC

General -> Advanced
-> Media Key mode: App Commands
-> Translate hot keys : Disabled
