Title: convert format requests plugin
Post by: shAf on May 29, 2003, 08:07:53 am
For attaching music to an e-mail, I wanted to convert an MP3 to a 64kbps WMA.  I believe I set the conversion up properly, but after the original had been decoded, MC informed me WM v9 is not installed.  I then installed the encoder from the MC plugin's downloads, but the conversion still notifies me "WM v9 is not installed".  Does this mean I have to install the MS WM v9 player?

Apparently ... yes!  Imagine ... a 13.4Mb codec just so MC can convert to WMA ...

MS does have a WM9 codec only download available, but just installing the codecs doesn't work. For some reason MC9 also needs to have the actual WMP installed in order to play any Windows Media formats.
