Title: IdPi not registering when the code is entered...
Post by: CruzBay on October 25, 2018, 11:30:03 am
Hi folks, my second IdPi isn't accepting the registration code...

I've entered it in 7 or 8 times, with dashes, all cap's for the letters.

The first one worked fine, the second one must not have the correct code.

BTW, the first thing I did was to tape the reg code to the 'Pi boxes that I wouldn't mix them.

Anything I can do about this?

Thanks!

Hi, I removed the attachment since it has a registration code in it.
Looking at it however, I see there was an error message that I couldn't see the whole of.

First, can you tell us what that message was and second was the new IdPi connected to the internet?

If recall correctly, you ordered the IdPi fully baked. They should have already been licensed.

Yes, Deanna got me two of the $99 specials.

One thing I thought of a bit ago is that I haven't networked it yet, and I see the error is a communication error.

Guess what's next...

But as a fully baked pi (love all the bad puns, worthy of a Piers Anthony tale) it already comes setup?

It can't license without an internet connection but it IS already licensed and setup since it's fully baked.

Once you have it networked, check the Help->Registration info.
If it's still licensed you are good.
If it has become unlicensed from the attempt to relicense it you should be able to use that code with the license option.
If you end up having to do that, when the dialog asks if it's the initial licensing use say No.

Bob, thanks for the advice.

Once it got networked it came up fine.

That's on me.

Thanks again.
