I downloaded MJ on Jan. 13th, and today it decided to "undo" my licence. I've tried the using my registration number to get a new license, but when I try to intall the license, I get "Error installing Media Jukebox license: Ok" When I go under "help" in MJ, and look at the registration info., it says "UNREGISTERED - 0 days left in the trial period". Trial period? I paid for, and have the receipt for my purchase.
How can I fix this problem, or get a refund? I love the program, but this is a real pain.

Check the section for the product you have ( v8 or v9 ) and if that doesn't help, please report more details. You can copy and paste your system info from MJ help.
Make sure you have the latest version available from the downloads page. Both versions are there.

I followed the link earlier, and have been running around in circles ever since. I don't want to keep trying to get another license because if I use my 10, then I'll have to pay another $24.95.
Here is my system info.:

Memory: Total - 392 MB, Free - 70 MB

Registered To: UNREGISTERED - 0 days left in the trial period.
When I try to restore from the downloaded license it says: Error installing Media Jukebox license: Ok."
I have no idea what to do next. ?

Reboot and then follow the instructions for using your Registration Code at the Restore Page.

OK, I tried all three ways on the restore page, and each time it comes up with the same error message. No matter what I do, it doesn't come out right.
Any other suggestions?

When you say "all three", what do you mean? Are you saying you can't restore?
Maybe you have an older license?
Are you starting with the e-mail you received from buy-button@jriver.com. Check it carefully.

installed version 9 Sunday night and still ahave no valid serial number. please help

Hiphopjunkie: I tried your license and it worked for me. So, make sure you are using Internet Explorer, and if that doesn't work, go to the restore page, do the restore, and after you get the error, find the browser window with your registration code as a link, right click on the link, save it as a file, and double click on the file to install the license.
Also make sure you have permission to modify the registry.
pokerflea: please give some details about what you are trying and what goes wrong.

Again, I tried your suggestions, but kept getting the same error message as before. I then uninstalled MJ, re-downloaded it, tried to license it again, but yet again, the error. I tried to use the link that I cut and pasted from my original email from jriver, and got this message:
"Unable to open https//:rover.jriver.com/license/*****-*****-*****-*****-*****/Media Jukebox 8-*****.mjr." A security problem has occured."
I don't know what this means, or why/how it happened. Any ideas?

Are you using IE?
Firewall problem?
When you report a problem, please give us the exact build. You can copy and paste your system info from MJ Help.

I am using IE, I've got the free version of Zonelabs firewall - would this somehow cause a problem? all of my info. has been posted above, but here it is again:

So, are you saying you can't even get to the restore page? It's this page:
www.mediajukebox.com/restore
If that's the case, your security may be screwed down too tight.

I can get to the restore page, but no matter how I choose to restore, I keep getting the same error message.

If this is the message you get
"Unable to open https//:rover.jriver.com/license/*****-*****-*****-*****-*****/Media Jukebox 8-*****.mjr." A security problem has occured."
Then your security may be set too high in IE.

Ok, at least this is a different message. I set my security level to low, went to the restore page, put in my registration number, and got "We could not find that license."

Are you using a Registration Code from your e-mail from Buy Button? Is it for the right version?

Please try again. Our certificate expired and was replaced today. If your clock was incorrect, that could have been a problem.

Try uninstalling it and rebooting. We've seen some very strange things from firewalls. Zonealarm has been the #1 problem.

I uninstalled zonelab, i uninstalled MJ, shut down, rebooted, redowloaded both MJ8 and my registration, installed MJ, tried to license it, and got the same error message as before.
Is there any way to get a refund?

since this happens allot, maybe a error message should pop up and tell the user to make sure the date is correct.
