Title: What triggers the "popup" window when hovering over the movie artwork
Post by: tyler69 on November 21, 2018, 12:18:30 pm
Hi there,

I play around with "Customize View" since I can't get Panel to show the movie artwork (it shows a list). However, I now changed a view to "Categories" which seems to have disabled the popup which shows the movie information. Is there a way to get this back/a setting to trigger its appearance?

Thanks!

EDIT: While I am at it: How do I get the movie artwork to show in Panel?

Change the list style to thumbnails.

Thanks. I suppose that is an answer to my second (EDIT) question?

Either way, "thumbnails" is checked currently and I neither get the popups, nor does Panel show artwork (I restarted the server btw).

Strange that changing the list style in my Categories view from Details to Thumbnails activates the popups?

I get the popups when I select "View as: File List" but "View as: Categories" does not show. I changed the view to "Categories" since I thought that would enable artwork in Panel...

Here is a link to the panel aspects of no cover art:

Apparently you can do some obscure settings to show the cover art in panel.

As far as your view is concerned I would switch it back to a panes view.

Thank you, that did it! Now I get artwork in Panel.
Might be worth considering consolidating "view management", be it for Panel, JRemote or MC in one place.

The initial question remains: Is the popup when hovering over the artwork in MC only available for "File list" view?

Question for you Tyler - do your popups appear in different places on screen when you hover over the file in different places - I find that for some I have to hover over the left side whereas for other to appear in a readable position I have to hover over the right side of the file in details view. It is all a bit weird.

No, the popups seem to appear always in the same place relative to the movie artwork I hover over. Sometimes they stay open when I move the mouse across the artwork, sometimes they disappear and reappear when I stop the mouse (on a different area of the artwork) after a second or so.

The above is of course only valid for "View as: File List" since "View as: Categories" does not show the popup.

Found the reason for my problem - having display settings in windows greater than 100% causes it!
You could try customising the view for video as a whole as a panes view and see if that helps - it certainly caused my popups to deactivate when I set that one to categories.

Thanks for sharing that information. I have this setting always at 100% in order to prevent UI glitches.
