I have a number of 5 and 3 channel recordings encoded in Flac. The center channel is output in all but the source channel DSP.
The analyzer shows the center channel decoded, but no center channel output to my AVR. 5.1 and 4 channel are OK, no center for 5 or 3 channel. All other DSP formats work. Any suggestions on a solution?
Clarification: When using WASAPI output, ASIO and Direct are OK
HDMI throught Nvidia card
Running MC 24.0.65
Thanks

You need to connect with 5.1 Channels in DSP Studio as opposed to Source Number of Channels. Doing the latter will generate 5.1 output, but it has trouble with 5.0 and 3.0 outputs.

Thanks for the reply. What does "but it has trouble with 5.0 and 3.0 outputs" mean? This only occurs with WASAPI.

HDMI has problems with outputting non-standard channel layouts. The best settings you can use is to just configure MC to the physical speaker setup you have and let it handle all of that.

OK, Thanks.

You used “Source Number Channels” as the output in DSP Studio. The output will work on 5.1, but on a 5.0 and 3.0, it will deliver a mismatch. The solution is to use the “5.1 Channel” output parameter, which will work in all cases.

Interestingly, it only occurs when using WASAPI. Direct and Asio4all work fine.
Thanks

None of those two alternatives are direct hardware interfaces. They probably convert the input at some point so that its actually output as 5.1. DirectSound does that for sure.

Got it, so I will assume that WASAPI is an unreliable choice for a one stop HDMI audio device.
Thanks
