MC24 is crashing every time. It was happening within 30 seconds at its worst (just idling in the media import window) and I had to rush to get a copy of the log (attached).
I began the trouble myself by re-installing Windows 7 after a dispiriting attempt to install Windows 10. The whole system had previously been running for years flawlessly ...I know more the fool I.
All drivers listed have been updated through Device Manager, the video card changed for a different brand, then run on basic VGA graphics drivers, removed two sticks of RAM then swapped for the other two, updated MC from 24.0.68 to 24.0.70. On updating I left all the file associations at default. No problems are showing up in other programs, but I'm only using browsers mainly, ebay, mail, YouTube, and a CAD program.
Can anyone read the log and/or suggest anything for me please?

Actually, if you look at Previous Log.txt you might find that you have bad files. It seems it was trying to analyze a file before it crashed.

The crash happened while MC was trying to analyze an mp4 file. The file is F:\TV Shows\Rake\Rake Season 4\Rake.S04E04.mp4.
Is it possible to share that file with me so I can investigate the crash? You can put it on a file sharing server such as DropBox or One Drive, and PM me with a link. If the file is not too large, you can also try emailing it to me. I am yaobing at jriver dot com
Thanks.

Before sharing the mp4 file with me, please try this DLL first (https://www.dropbox.com/s/9t1ju9yiv0cffwr/in_mp4.zip?dl=0).
Download, unzip, and copy in_mp4.dll into Plugins subfolder of MC24 installation.
If this does not fix the crash, I would still like to have a sample file. Thanks.
EDIT:
Besides the above DLL, please also download, unzip, and copy two files (https://www.dropbox.com/s/4v5i2ihdx7qyqqj/JRPlayer%20JRWorker.zip?dl=0) into MC24 installation folder, making sure existing files are replaced with the new ones.

Please test this build:

Hopefully it's fixed, but just let us know.
Thanks.

Wow, what a response, thank you people!
That is very encouraging; I have to give it a day or two and will do what you suggest and report back. Yaobing, is that DLL present in 24.0.71?
Cheers Jeff

Everything you need should be in 24.0.71. We've heard from other users that the fix worked, so we're pretty hopeful :)

Great work guys getting a fix out so quickly (especially since the holiday weekend is here now). :D
Happy holidays everyone!

I can't keep up; you are astounding :)
I loaded 24.0.71 and then 24.0.72 and both have worked for me. I have now imported many files including lots of mp4 and not a whisper of trouble. Thanks so much.
I was close to updating my suspect hardware so to run Windows 10, phew.
We now have music for our festive season thanks; here's wishing you guys all the best for yours :D

Thanks Yaobing and Matt.

Merry Xmas.
