Title: MC24 Crashing Repeatedly

I am trying to install the latest version of MC24 onto a brand new Dell Inspiron 15 running Windows 10 Pro and it keeps crashing.  I tried uninstalling AVG and disabling Windows Defender firewall to no avail.  I am running MC24.0.68 successfully with the same set of audio files on a brand new Dell XPS 15 that is also running AVG on Windows 10 Pro.  No issues.  I have been using MC for over a decade with no issue.

I have tried fully reinstalling MC 24 several times with no luck.

Unlike on the XPS 15, on this Inspiron, the hard drive is partitioned so that the program files are on a separate 128GB partition and the d: drive is a 1TB hard drive where I have put my audio files.

I turned on logging and attached is the log file.

You might give 24.0.71 a try from here: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,118668.0.html

It crashes after trying to analyze NARM - Session with Stefanie 160618.m4a so you might want to see if 24.0.71 fixes it for you. Otherwise, I'd try moving that file away for the time being.

Hi, sorry about the problem.  I looked at your crash dump and found out that build 71 still left one bad case unresolved.

Please try the following patch:

Mp4 crash fix for 32-bit version (https://1drv.ms/u/s!Atv0hnbtwkvuh1e-XiH5yELdELnW)

Download, unzip.  Then copy JRWorker.exe and JRPlayer.dll into MC24 installation folder, and copy in_mp4.dll into the Plugins subfolder.

Thank you both for your help with this.  The curious thing is that I always uncheck Analyze Audio when I run Auto-Import for the first time.

The fixes solved the problem even with AVG interrupting the installation to tell me that the JRiver exes might be malware.  It then concluded they are not.

Slightly related question.  My system is a 64bit system.  Am I better off running the 64bit version of MC?

Thanks for reporting back.  We will make a new full build which should avoid antivirus flags.

Thank you.  I installed the 64 bit version with no issues once AVG decided it wasn't malware.
