Hi,
I have a very strange issue where I have a number of playlists missing songs all of a sudden. I have playlist on JRiver for a very long time and this morning is just discovered from 4 lists a few songs missing and another one almost empty. Can I back track what happened through logs files or in another way as the logs are deleted everytime I open and close JRiver? Is there a way to get the lists back, is there an automated backup for instance?
thanks for your thoughts and help

Restore from a MC database backup; but take a fresh backup first! Videos in my footer on backup and restoring the MC database.
This doesn't explain the cause though. Are the files still in your database? Have you lost a drive/directory containing your media files?

The files seemed to have dropped from the library and have been imported back for some reason. I have files that are in multiple playlists and they are gone from all of them. And when I add the files back to the playlist during a search I can see they are in the automatic playlist called "recently added".
On the backup part, are there automated backups I can restore and where to find these (Folder)

Tools>Options> File locations right at the bottom of the popup menu is the address at which library backups are saved.

One thing to be cognizant of... Check the following setting:
File->Library->Import->Configure auto import->Fix broken links
If that setting is YES, MC can quietly drop files from the library if a path is temporarily unavailable. This can happen if drives mount late, to USB/external drives for a variety of reasons, or any drive at all if it is dismounted during a chkdsk.
Set that setting to NO for maximum safety.
The symptoms you describe can be caused by this feature.

Thanks for all the support all the issues have been fixed and playlists are running as before :)
w.r.t One thing to be cognizant of... Check the following setting:
File->Library->Import->Configure auto import->Fix broken links
There is also the option YES (Protect files on missing drives)
Is did have this option flagged however I did not yield the desired results....
Will put this to NO
