Title: Can I use JRiver with Squeezebox endpoint?
Post by: robwi on January 20, 2019, 12:59:16 pm
Longtime JRiver User.  Read recent article in Absolute Sound about Roon and LAN endpoints. Got the 30 day trial. Following directions on the Roon forums, I was able to use my old Squeezebox duet as an endpoint.  It works flawlessly.    Can I do the same with JRiver?  Roon is quirky, good for some things, and lacking in other areas.  And Four times as expensive as JRiver. I have not been on the JRiver forums for many years, so am not aware of jriver state of the art networking, and playback endpoints.   Any direction would be appreciated.  Thanks, Rob

The wiki has a topic on DLNA.  MC can act as a DLNA Renderer (similar to what they call an endpoint).  DLNA is an industry standard that thousands of devices support.
