Title: Request for MC25 - "Now Playing" popup or Windows 10 Integration
Post by: jjfabbsy on January 23, 2019, 04:30:34 am
Hi,

I notice that there is a nice little popup when you hover over a file in JRiver's library interface....have attached it so you can all see what I am talking about.

Would it be possible for this to be used as an optional "Now Playing" popup that appears as each track changes (possible from taskbar?) that can indicate tracks as they are played in JRiver.

Winamp had a similar feature that was quite good.

I understand there were some plugins a while back that did this, but they don't seem to work anymore.

If this was a core JRiver feature, I think it would be a great addition.

This would add significant value to my JRiver experience.

There are several releases that I ask the possibility of having the popup / balloon / toast or how you want to call.

But the result is what you see ... nothing at all, after years of posting no response in this regard.

Now I use MusicBee as a player and I'm also evaluating it as a database for my archive.

Thanks for the reply.

I suggest however to evaluate a greater integration with windows 10:
--) Action center - The message via the action center does not oblige you to move the icon with the mouse and wait. Who uses the mouse as a work tool cannot take the icon every 3 minutes.
--) Better management of audio devices and relative volume control - When you switch the audio device (eg from bluetooth to internal) the volume no longer works, or you go back to the original device or restart the media center
--) Volume management (application) should not capture all the keyboard or mouse multimedia buttons, especially if the program is in the background

To conclude, I consider JRiver Media Center the best program ever on the market and I supported it from version 11 (maybe even earlier).

I'm sorry to see that many new features are implemented but the points I described above are fundamental for simplified volume and device management during normal work and therefore I am obliged to use also another product.

If you are interested in collaborating to resolve the problems described, I am available for the various tests.

Regards

If such a feature is ever added, hopefully it's optional as I wouldn't have any use for it (and would get old pretty quickly popping up notifications on every track change).
