Just set up a new Win10 HTPC. MC25 is locking up more times than not on startup. No firewall. No virus scanners. Media on NAS via mapped folder.
Often takes multiple restarts to get one to work... or sometimes Right Click->"Try to restore program" options kickstarts it into life...
Cannot see anything in logs of use.

Actually, once MC is unresponsive, right clicking on it and selecting the windows option "Try to restore program" works every time...
-
It may be busy, not locked. Let it go. If it's trying to do something like build thumbnails for movies on a NAS drive, it might take some time.
You could test that thought by disabling some of the background tasks.
-
Stays locked for hours until I intervene. Really nothing running on the PC beyond MC...
-
Turn off auto import, audio analysis, thumbnailing.
-
Still locking...
If I turn off the Media Server it doesn't lock...
-
Actually, now that I've turned OFF the server and turned it back on again I'm no longer locking (at the moment...)...
Coincidence? Something "cleared"??
-
And locked up again...
