Title: How do I make version 23 recognize my new external drive or auto-import ? TY
Post by: groove56 on February 21, 2019, 06:33:25 pm
Hi I have my library on a WD My Book. It failed but I was fortunate to be able to back it up on a new My Book Duo. It's a fairly large music collection. The files are still on my J River but they will only play when I plug in my My Book, which is labeled Drive G. My Duo is labeled E. My pc reads the new drive and will play the music manually. I think I need to auto import from my new drive but im not having any luck. Does anyone know how I do that ? Thanks

No, you don't. That should be the last choice.

You can either:
1. Change the drive letter of the My Book Duo to G:, after changing the drive letter of the My Book to something else first, with both plugged in. Google how to assign drive letters in Windows.
OR
2. Use the Rename, Move, and Copy File function to just replace all references to the G:\ drive in the MC Library to E:\. https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Rename,_Move,_and_Copy_Files Use the "Find & Replace" function. Also https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Moving_Files  Search the forum for threads about it.
