Title: UDAC5 and DSD
Post by: oliverg on February 25, 2019, 11:17:19 pm
Hi there,

Has anyone got JRiver24 working with DSD and a UDAC5?

I've had an ASUS Xonar Essence Mk II that was working well. The unit died so I bought a UDAC5

I've tried every combination I can think of using DOP, DSD native (1x-8x) and bitstreaming and all I get is white noise / static. Some settings actually cause JRiver to shut down.

The ASIO driver seems to be no better than the WASAPI driver.

I'm hoping someone here has got a UDAC5 (or 3) and can offer some insight as to what is going wrong?

PS the Windows driver will only allow me to select 192Khz/24 bit too - anything higher and I get a Windows message saying "format not supported) despite 384/32 being a displayed option

Thanks in advance

OK, I ended up installing Foobar2000 (with ASIO driver). After configuring the ASIO driver through the Foobar interface, JRiver started working perfectly in direct DSD native mode (1X-4X)
