JRiver Media Center 25 for Mac is now available. You can download it from the JRiver forum. It's in a thread near the top called "JRiver Media Center 25.0 -- Available Here".
You will need to:
1. Download
2. Install
3. Restore your MC25 license if necessary
Data from MC24 will be found and transferred to MC25. You can also restore a backup from MC24 in MC25 (File > Library > Restore).
When you're happy with MC25, you can uninstall MC24.
If you have problems, please read the instructions here:
https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,119901.0.html
Thanks again for your support.
Regards,
JRiver

Installed 25...can't remember, but is it normal for MC to reload all the songs? It works fine, but just worried about duplicates. It also didn't import my smart playlists from 24. Otherwise, working great with my gear.
-
I had a trial version of 24 and spent countless hours editing tags and organizing. I purchased and received a license for 25. My update, so far, doesn't have any of my edits. I'm not in a panic yet....but close. How long does this take??? Do I need to do a backup save from V24 and restore to V25 ?

Do I need to do a backup save from V24 and restore to V25 ?
That would probably be a good idea. By the way, if you're editing tags/metadata I would highly suggest using the Update tags (from library) feature, as it'll make sure your tag/metadata edits are written to the files themselves.
-
OK...all is well. I restored from V24 and it looks good. I'm still looking for the menu item "Update Tags)....
-
Right click on files, Library tools sub-menu > Update tags (from library) is there. :)
-
OK...that worked...but now I keep getting a nuisance error as it cannot change the ISO files. Everytime I change a Tag anywhere - I get the error. How do I turn it off?
-
Yeah, ISO files lack support for saving metadata/tags internally. However, you could try enabling sidecar support which will work for ISO files.
MC's Options > General > Importing & Tagging > set Sidecar tagging mode: to Save in sidecar if internal tagging is not supported then click on Create external sidecar files for media types: and select Audio.
What this does is for filetypes that MC can't directly write metadata/tags to, like ISO files, it creates a file in the same directory as the ISO file(s) which acts as a "sidecar" saving the metadata/tags there instead.

Maybe that should be enabled by default?

I lost a lot of my tag edits from V24. I started putting them back but there's a lot of them. Should I go back to V24 and use sidecar then save the library and restore in V25? Or just keep pluggin in V25?
-
If you have MC24 installed still, yes, you can go into it, enable sidecars then use the update tags (from library) tool and hopefully that should do it.

I’m having issue with missing album art from version 24. I’ve already used the version 24 backup. Any help would be appreciated.
-
Cover Art and Thumbnails aren't transferred over in library backups (simply because Cover Art/Thumbnails can have large file sizes). You can (with MC24 and MC25 fully closed) find the Cover Art/Thumbnails folders in the ~/.jriver/Media Center 24/ folder and manually copy/paste them into the ~/.jriver/Media Center 25/ folder.

I bought an upgrade license for MC 25 (Mac) in March.
When I want to restore my license I get the message: Your license file is not valid for Media Center.
What do I do wrong?
-
I just saw the invoice. It was not March but early February

Did you install MC25?

I just re-sent your MC25 for Mac license.

It worked.

I installed in June the trial version of MC25 for Mac and after few days I purchased but didn't use it.
Now I'm in a loop.
When I try to open MC25 it is written that the trial period has expired
when I restore it says that my license file is not valid for MC and asks if I want to purchase an upgrade
when I click NO it goes again to the window showing trial period has expired.
What is wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Download and install MC 25.0.114 from our Download Page. That should work.

I have been using MC 22 successfully. Decided to upgrade. I purchased MC 26 license for Mac yesterday. Downloaded MC 25 and it would not launch (Running Mac OS 10.8.5 on 2008 Macbook). Downloaded MC 24 and it works but will not accept the MC 26 license. I've read through the forum and tried a couple things (deleted old versions, restore). I'm stumped. Appreciate your advice. Thank you.

MC25 requires Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks and newer now.
If you want to use MC25 on OS X 10.8.5, you'll have to use build 25.0.114 (https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,122753.0.html), as build 25.0.115 (http://files.jriver.com/mediacenter/channels/v25/latest/MediaCenter250115.dmg) and higher requires 10.9 minimum now because of the required notarization changes needed for macOS Catalina.
That also means MC26 will require Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks and newer as well.
-
Thanks, A.D. I downloaded 25.0.114 and installed. Still won't launch. I'm happy using MC24 if I could just solve license match-up issue.
-
Try a slightly older build of MC25, e.g. 25.0.108: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,122425.0.html
Though, I *think* this is the oldest build that should accept a MC26 license, any older versions than that probably won't. Also the MC26 license won't work in MC24, only the latest builds of MC25.
Honestly, if you can update the 2008 MacBook to 10.9 (which it looks like you can) I'd actually recommend doing it.
-
I have been using MC24, bought the upgrade for MC26 (when it is ready). Tried to upgrade to MC25 (required to eventually step up to MC26 as I recall). I need a license key for 25, the one for 24 will not work.
Thanx,
Steve

Download and install MC25. Your MC26 license will work with it.
-
Got it, thanks

Download and install MC 25.0.114 from our Download Page. That should work.

I did what you suggested, but it didn't work and got the same loop. licence is not valid
-
Use copy and paste. An MC26 license will definitely work with 25.0.114. Details are here:
https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Restoring_a_License
-
my licence is MC25 and not MC26.
I always use copy and paste to enter registration code.
I downloaded 25.0.114, restored with registration code, but still doesn't work.
-
You have two Mac licenses. I just re-sent them. Make sure you use the MC25 license and that you have no extra spaces.
-
Many thanks.
With new registration code for MC25 licence is installed.
