Title: Smartphone video rotation flag ?
Post by: madbrain on March 25, 2019, 01:24:34 am
I shot the attached video in landscape mode on my cell phone, but likely with the phone upside down.  Edit: no attached, too large.

In MC25, it shows upside down. In Windows Media Player, it shows correctly as I intended when I shot it. Same in Cyberlink PowerDirector 16.

It looks like this is a known issue.

Would be nice to get it addressed some day.

I can always do a rotation in software by re-encoding it, but it is unfortunately a lossy process, and videos shot on smartphone are already not so high quality to begin with.

Try switching video playback to Red October HQ, that should support rotation.

Thanks ! Yes, that fixed it.
