Title: Album custom view question
Post by: davidw55 on March 27, 2019, 04:10:45 pm
Hello

I've been fiddling around with custom views to try to persuade MC to augment my albums with some extra data, perhaps Compression, or Bitrate or both, or something else that I haven't yet thought of.  The reason for wanting this is that I often have many versions of the same album, with different bit depths, bitrates or encoding.  I used to just manually edit the Album tag itself but I'm hoping that a product as functionally rich as MC might offer a better way to group tracks.

Looking at the standard Album view, I believe that I'm looking for a new grouping, not just Album, but instead Album plus some other tag.

Is there a way to group using more than one field/tag ?   Can this be done with an expression ?

You might find Stacks useful:

what type of display do you want to see?

the easiest way is panes https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/View_Schemes_and_Panes you can just put the compression/bitrate, etc. in the pane and use it to change the files you see

there are also many other ways, expressions can be used, etc. it depends on what you want to have at the end
