Title: Closed caption text size
Post by: muzicman0 on March 31, 2019, 06:12:56 pm
Is it possible to change the text size of closed caption text in recorded TV?  I want to make it a bit smaller.

It is not possible currently.

CC defines its own text attributes.  However, text size may be one that we could change.

Correction:

I was wrong.  It is already possible to change text size of CC.

Tools > Options > Video > Subtitles & Language < Subtitle size

This option is honored in live TV too.

I tested it today.  It works.

Man, I swear I tried that, but you are correct, it does work.  I'll try it on a client later, for some reason the client that I have here doesn't show the options in the OSD for CC.

Worked on the client at home.  I think maybe it didn't work here at work is that I have transcoding enabled, so it didn't even show up on the OSD.

I think you are right.  CC is lost during transcoding.  However, live TV shows do not get transcoded.

I rarely watch live TV live (unless I am out of town), but the CC's are saved with the .ts file.  I am trying (now successfully) to change it on recorded TV.

I think what I tried before was the right click|subtitle options, which didn't work, but what you suggested did work, so thanks!
