Now How Do I Access "Bios"?

Use get/set function from MJFileAutomation.

string Bios = interface.Get("Bios", false);

The scroll bars are not fixed in this release, clicking at the extreme top of a skinned scroll bar results in it moving the list to the extreme top, not windows standard behavior, nor is it consistent with non-skinned behaviour.

Although not a bug, I was hoping we'd get toolbar text for the toolbar.

MINOR NIT:
When Minimize to System Tray is enabled and you start up MC in mini-me mode there is an MC entry in the taskbar (I'd prefer if there wasn't).  If you minimize the mini-me display the taskbar entry still remains.  If you switch to MEGA-ME, then minimize MC the taskbar entry disappears as expected.  If you restore MC to MEGA-ME, the taskbar entry returns as expected.  Now, if you switch back to mini-me, the taskbar entry disappears and you simply have the MC icon in the System Tray.

It would be nice if the taskbar entry was never created if Minimize to System Tray is enabled and you start in mini-me mode.

173 was better than 172, not so good as 174.

We don't release all builds we make.  Some are consumed internally.

Since the release pressure is gone, how about fixing the tags for Track Info:
TRACKINFO_INSERT_CUSTOM1, TRACKINFO_INSERT_CUSTOM2,

Thanks

This strikes me as odd, and runs counter to the way my shop did it when I suffered my time as a programmer.  If it didn't go to production, its version didn't get bumped.  Of course, I worked on a mainframe platform.  Different paradigm.  Time to shutup before I get too many strange looks.  (Oh no, too late.)

dopas,

I just uploaded new version of Track Info plug-in and Track Info SDK.

To download plug-in go to:
http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/downloads/mcplugins.pl?type=3

First, install plug-in from the link in Dreamstate template discription. Then, download Dreamstate template (it contains example of new keywords). For more information go to our Dev Zone
http://www.musicex.com/mediacenter/devzone.html

and check out new version of Track Info SDK.

Please pardon my ignorance, but how is this plugin different than the standard "dreamstate visualization" available in MC9?

Does there exist an upgrade with a special price for Media Juke Box User?

Hi. I am not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but "Play" and "Add to Playing Now" commands in the Media Center context menu in Windows Explorer do not seem to work any longer. I just upgraded from 9.0.168 andthe Explorer context menu commands worked fine in that build. After I download albums from eMusic I usually play them first, before I decide whether to add them to the library or not.

I am running XP Pro SP1.

Overall, great job guys. I've been using MJ/MC for a year now, and it's one of the few programs I ever paid for that is worth every penny of its price.

Bug:

Playing "Get a grip" from "Aerosmith" the playback slows down quite a lot. I remember reporting something similar a couple of month ago; does anyone remember if this supposed to be fixed? I can't :-)

I could send the song the you guys, if you don't tell.

The comment about the right click explorer menu is true.  I forgot I was going to report this but never did.  Clears playing now but does not add new tracks or start playing

Yes, same experiance. Sometimes MC crashes totally and sometimes just nothing happens. Only the import command works as before.

Please investigate.

Title: Import media does not find all files
Post by: jeffh on May 17, 2003, 06:41:08 am
I am having a problem that MC does not find all the files in the directories it searches. My specific problem seems to be that very small files are skipped. When ripped, the songs are correctly added to the library (and they play correctly), however after converting the songs to a different format (files are still small) or after clearing the library and reloading it the files are just ignored when I use import media.

Let me know if you need some example files... Anyone know a workaround to get the files into MC? I can load the files into other programs...

Ok, thanks. I saw that it requires either MC version 175 or Track Info Plug-in 126, which both are not out yet. So I'll wait until you guys post the new MC version.

jeffh - if the files are very small, can we assume that they are very short tracks? If so, try importing them from the main interface (Tools > Import Media). Click the Advanced button in the resulting window, then uncheck the box for "Don't import short files (under 5 seconds)".

jeffh - happy to help  :) Still not sure why this is the default behaviour for short media files - you aren't the first to ask about it. Perhaps there was some issue in the past and it's a "legacy" setting. Anyway, glad you're back on track  ;)

We added the option after many complains by our users that MJ imports all windows system sounds (ding and dong.wav). Also, majority of music compositions are much longer then 5 secs.

Seems to be that it is the wrong default option for mp3, ape and other no system files. Maybe you could make this a wave option only... I have a lot of CDs by artists like they might be giants that have many short little songs to hold the whole together. The fact I can not by default import them seems strange. The fact that this option is not under options is also strange. I am not sure why import does its options differently then everything else. I did not even think to look in advanced for a settable option until someone called it out.

Can't read audio CD's

I can't read audio CDs created with MC v.174. The burning process has completed without any error, but trying to play this CD results in "buffering" and MC went to nowhere. However, the CD can be played with an ordinary player. It can't be played on another computer (ether Windows or Linux).

I tried several speeds and options (dsp etc)

To ensure, the burner is not the cause, I used RealOne to create an audio CD on the same pc. It works fine, also with MC9!

During this process of verifying, I went thru numerous crashes of MC. It seems, there are a lot of unhandled exception errors within the code.

Hi,
I downloaded MC9 and when it was completed went thru the installation process. That seemed to be fine.

I then started MC9 and that appeared to be fine.

Played one song and then the program stopped telling me that MC9 is not installed and would I like to install it.

Whats happening? ?

I am sure there is a simple explanation.

Thanks

I am getting the same error message as posters at Reply 14, 16, 17.

Right click "play" and "add to playing now" features from within Windows Explorer either empties out the playlist, or cause a complete crash of MediaCenter.

Thanks.

Ok, so I've got an odd one here I think. Might or might now be a bug. I have songs in my Playing Now list. I stop it from playing back, or it stops on its' own when it reaches the end of the list. If I go to the artist list and select a new song to play, it starts playing the last song that is highlighted. I have the double click behavior set to "Add to Playing Now (play now)" which I would think would add it right after the highlighted entry and then start playing the new entry. Instead, it just adds it and starts playing the highlighted entry rather than the song that I just added. Is this a bug or I am misunderstanding the behavior of the option I have selected?
