Title: library share question
Post by: darky on April 08, 2019, 04:10:47 am
Good morning all,

I have a head ache from reading about sharing the library, but it is fun anyway.
(2 pc's and 1 nas)
I used Media server to connect both pc's. ( 1 server / 1 client / storage on nas)
Both pc's have the same storage locations ( on the NAS) in settings and both have the same auto import locations.

My question is about the auto import part.
If I share the library..do I need to have auto import activated on the client? Or will the client do everything twice now?

KInd regards

Damian

I'm not entierly sure I understand correctly, but as far as I know your local media import rues do only apply if you use a local media library - So only your server should autoimport, the client just waits to be updated from the server.

hello
thank you for the reply

I just want 2 systems to share/show the same content ( stored on the NAS) in Theater view.
My main pc is used to add new content. The second pc is used to view on TV.

I think i fixed it.
I removed all the import directories ( as it would copy all my files). Now I have the client only connect to the media server.
The import now goes very fast and no double entries anymore.
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction

*edit 2*
I also didn't choose to sync the first time...but I imported.
With sync it is fine now  :)
